Interested in trying a class at KD Dance? We’d love to have you join us! To request a trial class, simply contact the studio using the form below. Please include the exact class day, title of the class and time you would like to try, along with the student’s name and age. Once we receive your request, the studio will contact you to confirm availability and provide any information you need before your first class. Please note: Trial classes are scheduled in advance and are subject to class availability.

Once your trial class is scheduled, you’ll receive instructions about what dancewear, is required for your class. All students are expected to arrive dressed in clean clothing, with good personal hygiene, hair secured in a ponytail, and free from strong odors. No dance shoes? No problem! For their first class, a student may participate without dance shoes for all genres except tap. The proper Capezio brand tap shoes are required for participation in all tap classes.

Find The Right Class for Your dancer.
0-3 years: A special first step into the world of dance! Designed for little ones and their grown-up! It’s a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, coordination, and a love of dance—together!
8-10 years: Foundational technique across ballet, jazz & tap. Building vocabulary, alignment, strength and flexibility. Opportunity to explore other dance styles, including Modern, Hip Hop, Acro, Musical Theater Jazz & Pom Dance
3-4 years: Independent dance that builds coordination, listening & motor skills, and a love of movement for our youngest dancers while building technique in ballet & jazz.
11-13 years: Lessons will continue to inspire your young dancer and increasing their coordination, strength, technique, and terminology. Lyrical and Pointe are offered starting at this level.
5-7 years: Foundational technique across ballet, jazz & tap. Building vocabulary, alignment, strength and flexibility. Opportunity to explore other dance styles, including Modern, Hip Hop, Acro, Musical Theater Jazz & Pom Dance
14-18 Years: Lessons progressing at the most challenging level to continue to foster the love of the art of dance and instill appreciation for music & choreography.

Frequently Asked Questions
Considering KD Dance Studio for your dancer? We know families often have questions before taking that first step. Here are some of the questions we hear most often to help you feel confident and prepared when joining our studio.
Can I register online or do I have to register in person?
Both options are available! Families are encouraged to register online through our Dance Studio-Pro (DSP) system or contact the studio to register in person. We want the registration process to be convenient and comfortable for every family. Completing registration online ensures your dancer’s spot in class is secured the day you join! Registration can also be completed after you have scheduled and tried a trial class.
May I try a class before I sign up?
Yes! You should contact the studio to see if there is a spot in the class you are interested in and set up a trial class! Trial classes are available once the season starts! Your dance will be required to come dressed to dance in any color leotard, hair in ponytail, tights and correct dance shoes. No shoes! No worries- Tap is the ONLY class you need to have shoes to try- all other classes can be tried in CLEAN bare feet.
I drive past the studio all the time- can I just come in an check it out?
No. You must be a member of the studio to enter. There is a sign on the door with a QR code that takes you to the contact page of our website. Please contact the studio and arrange a visit!
When does the dance season begin?
Our regular dance season begins the Tuesday after Labor Day each year. This consistent start date makes it easy for families to plan ahead and know when classes will begin each season.
How do I know what I need to purchase for my dancer?
You can review class information before registering. Class descriptions and details are available online through our Dance Studio-Pro (DSP) registration system and can be viewed before completing registration. This allows you to learn more about each class, required dancewear, shoes, other class-specific needs, and what to expect before choosing classes for your dancer.
Do you recommend a place to purchase dance shoes, leotards, and tights?
Yes! We recommend The Dancer's Closet in Greensburg or any local favorite dance store for dance shoes, leotards, tights, and other dancewear needs. Dance boutiques are a great local resource for helping dancers find properly fitted dancewear and footwear. Properly fitted dance shoes are important for your dancer's comfort, safety, and technique. We strongly recommend having your dancer professionally fitted for their dance shoes, especially if you are unfamiliar with how each type of dance shoe should fit. For this reason, we discourage ordering dance shoes online unless you are confident in selecting the correct size & fit.
Can I view my child's class?
Yes! KD Dance Studio has a comfortable waiting area where parents and guardians can watch class through our closed-circuit TV system. This allows you to see your dancer in class while keeping the classroom focused and minimizing distractions for our students.
Is there a recital every year?
Yes! Our annual recital is a special end-of-season celebration where dancers have the opportunity to showcase the skills, confidence, and progress they have developed throughout the season.
We believe in keeping families informed and prepared. Recital dates are established before the season begins, allowing families to plan ahead. Costumes are also presented to parents early in the season, so you know what your dancer will be wearing well before recital time.
Throughout the season, families will receive important information regarding recital participation, costumes, rehearsals, and other show details—so there are no last-minute surprises.
Do I have to participate in fundraising?
No. Fundraising is completely optional. KD Dance Studio offers two studio fundraisers throughout the year, giving families an opportunity to participate if they choose. There is no required fundraising commitment for students or families.
Is the studio closed for national holidays?
Yes. KD Dance Studio follows a holiday closure schedule, and classes are not held on designated national holidays and scheduled studio closures.
Our Studio Calendar is included in the Terms & Conditions so families can review important dates, closures, and other schedule information before registering.
What happens if there is bad weather?
The safety of our dancers and families comes first. KD Dance Studio will generally follow the local school district’s weather-related closures. If schools are closed due to inclement weather, the studio will typically close as well.
If a weather-related closure or schedule change affects classes, families will be notified through our regular communication channels.
How does KD Dance Studio keep parents informed?
Email is our primary form of communication. Important studio announcements, reminders, schedule changes, and other information are sent directly to families by email.
We also maintain a private parent group where members can stay connected and receive additional studio updates. We believe clear, timely communication helps families know what to expect throughout the dance season.
What are your behavior expectations?
We expect all students and guests to be respectful, safe, and cooperative throughout the studio and at all studio events. Students must be able to participate in a group setting, follow their instructor’s directions, and avoid behavior that disrupts class or others. Students who are unable to meet these expectations may be removed from class and, depending on the situation, may not be permitted to return. The waiting area is a quiet space for observing class, and parents and guardians are expected to help maintain a respectful environment.
What are the physical expectations for students?
Students must be physically and mentally able to safely participate in dance class, which requires full-body movement, stamina, flexibility, and coordination. Students recovering from an injury, surgery, or illness that affects their ability to dance must provide medical clearance before returning to class. If your student has physical limitations or requires specific accommodations, please contact the studio before registration to discuss whether our current classes can safely meet their needs.
What if my student is sick?
If your student has a cold, cough, fever, or other illness, please keep them home to help protect our dancers and staff. Notify the studio of the absence and contact us to schedule a make-up lesson. Make-up classes should be scheduled within 2-4 weeks of the missed lesson.
Does KD Dance Studio use social media?
Yes! We use social media to share studio updates, celebrate our dancers, highlight special moments, and give families a glimpse into life at KD Dance Studio.
We believe in using social media intentionally and tastefully. We do not post constantly or simply for the sake of posting. Instead, we focus on sharing meaningful updates and showcasing our students, studio, and dance experience in a positive and respectful way.
What areas do you serve?
We have dancers from all over the Mon Valley! KD Dance offers dance classes for all ages from Rostraver Township, Belle Vernon, Perryopolis, West Newton, Monongahela, Bentleyville, Westmoreland County, Washington County and Fayette County.
